The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!
Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.
Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.
For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.
Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

The Japanese people were always very helpful and polite which made our Tokyo stay/visit all the more enjoyable.
Tokyo SkyTree a bucket list visit
Take a trip on the Shinkansen bullet train
Lots of on-time public transport (Trains) available but can sometimes be a challenge to access the required destination platform. Lots of walking
We visited Japan during cherry blossom time. Will not visit Japan again during cherry blossom as the crowds are huge at tourist sites.

It was perfect.
It was perfect. We walked over 25K steps a day, we couldn't help ourselves just walking from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. So much to explore and if we caught trains everywhere we would have missed things in the back lanes. They were our favourites. Beautiful shops, food and different settings. Can't wait to go back and take our kids with us.

Very clean place, most of the locals were friendly and the only rude people we met were tourists. Train system is really great and cheap to use. Prices were very cheap for everything, about 5 times cheaper than Australia. If you like temples then you will be very happy with the place, just take a good pair of walking shoes. We used the Pas-mo card which was great to pay for the train and some items at the store. If you want to eat out, book before you leave your country as after dark you mostly cant get a table any where.

It is one if the best cities i ever visited. the people are great, friendly, and inviting. there is so much to do in Tokyo that 1 week is simply not enough. the food is great and the transportation is great. you can take the metro to anywhere you would like. it looks complicated and overwhelming but once you understand it, it would be really easy.
will definitely come back for another visit!

I am in love! This was my first time visiting Japan.
I am in love! This was my first time visiting Japan. I am now hooked and want to go back! The metro is not as scary as everyone makes it up to be and Tokyo is not any more crowded than any other touristy capital I've visited. Personally, I found Rome to be much more crowded. And I was traveling during the Golden Week. Amazing food - there honestly wasn't I didn't like. Great prices and lovely people. Whenever I stopped to check a map, there was always someone asking if I need any help or directions.
The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome provided a fantastic experience after the long flight to Tokyo. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the room was very comfortable. The hotel staff was polite and friendly and made certain that all of our needs were taken care of. The reception staff spoke English fluently and made the check in/check out process very easy for those who aren’t fluent in Japanese. Would definitely recommend staying here to avoid the business and crowds associated with hotels around Shinjuku or Tokyo station.
The room was clean and the sheets were new! I enjoyed my stay in Galois since it was just 1 stop away from Shinjuku station. There were alot of shops and restaurants in the area, and it was just a few steps away from the JR Shin-Okubo Station. The room was abit small but I guess it’s the same with most Tokyo hotels. Guests can also get packets of freebies, like hair turban, comb, facial creams, facial oils, etc during the length of you stay. The staff were also very helpful during our stay.
The rooms are very comfortable, if a bit small and cozy, the facilities (vending machines, onsen, coffee machine, etc) are very convenient and easy to use, and the hotel itself is an extremely good location with three subway stations within walking distance (two of which are practically outside the front door of the building) with excellent connections to all the major districts and train stations of Tokyo (Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Oshiage, Tokyo Station, Ikebukuro).
Perfect location, 1 min walk to Oedo line Higashi Shinjuku, 12 min walk to JR Shinjuku, can easily get to anywhere by train or bus.
Also, the room is quite clean. Even besides a main road in downtown, the inside is quiet once the door is closed. The queen bed is soft.
I booked this room for my family to stay. They are satisfied with the fully equipped desgin. The hotel provide every utensils needed.
Great view of parks and Olympic stadiums from the 12th floor room with balcony. Excellent modern furnishings and hotel amenities (spa, fitness, laundry). Staff were very professional and helpful (we arrived after midnight and the front desk was still open to check us in). Quiet neighborhood with close access to subway and train stations making travel to Shibuya/Shinjuku/Meguro fast and easy.
Location was amazing! 30 minute walk from either Shinjuku or Shibuya, 10 minutes away from the national gardens, right next to the baseball stadium and 15 minutes for Meiji Shrine. It was also right next to a station.
You also get views of mount Fuji on a clear day from the roof terrace which was a wonderful bonus.
Such great value for money in comparison to other hotel prices in Tokyo.
We loved our stay at Toshi Center Hotel. The location is very central (near Shinjuku and Shibuya) and the neighbourhood is very calm and quite classy. The room was very confortable and clean, we loved the view on the roofs. Though it was a smoking room, the room didn't smell of cigarettes.
The staff was lovely and very helpful!!
We definitely recommend!!
Arigato gozaimashita
Compared to hotels in Shinjuku, the value for this property was much higher! I had heard how expensive staying in Shinjuku was, and I was pleasantly surprised to stay in such a spacious and cozy apartment. About a 20 minute walk to the Shinjuku Central station, but the walk is beautiful and exciting. Very close to a large and beautiful park. Very happy with my stay here!
After staying in a busier part of Shinjuku, this was a lot calmer. It was still only a 5-10 minute walk to some great restaurants near shinjuku station, and so the station is also near. Lovely bar and bakery, and still plenty of restaurants within a minute or two of the hotel. Near the government building which has a light show at nights, and a nice park.
We came back to tokyo from kyoto for one night ahead of our flight home and shared one room (me, my husband and my sister). We had three separate beds and a pretty spacious room, considering we had 6 suitcases/ bags between us. The hotel itself was lovely, the staff were incredible and we had a very comfortable night.
The room was always well kept. Location was fantastic, perfectly located 5 minutes from the nearest train station and an easy train ride to anywhere in Tokyo. We spent a time in Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, and many other neighborhoods in Tokyo, and the location of the hotel made traveling a breeze.
The cleanliness and the staff members assistance
AND the breakfast buffet!
I used this hotel for participating 2023 Tokyo Marathon. It was only for approx. 10 min walk from the JR Shinjuku station (West Entrance), across from Chuo Park. Probably just 5 minutes walk to the starting area for the race.
Great location, right next to Tokyo sky tree and the river. Bit of a journey on train to Shibuya/Shinjuku but we enjoyed the quieter area. Staff friendly, room comfortable and bigger than our other hotel rooms in Japan. They had a lovely kimono wearing event and tea ceremony event on our first day!
Very confient, the location of the hotel is perfect! Just a small walk from Shibuya Station and the center of Shibuya.
De hotel staff is very helpful and is super friendly. Clean towels every day, and the capsules were comfortable.
Overall, it was a good stay!
Clean and quiet. This was the best value I found in Tokyo. We did not want to stay in tiny capsule hotels. You are a bus ride away from the Shibuya station. From there you can go anywhere. The owner is friendly. We were happy with our stay.
My room included use of the onsen. I had never experienced this before. It was a wonderful experience. My husband and I enjoyed our Japan vacation very much. This hotel was a great place to conclude our trip.
Picked this place for the proximity to Shibuya and Shinjuku, without the crowd and the high price point. Convenient Yamanote line nearby to both places. Hotel front desk was also friendly.
Very close to tokyo station, Ueno Zoo, Shibuya, Gundam Base… and to other our places of destination.
They provide mouth wash which is not offered from other hotels I’ve stayed.
Excellent Shinjuku location and very easy to find. Room is of good space and size in comparison to other Tokyo central hotels. Staff are super friendly and accommodating.
